In the heart of Thiviers, at the gateway to the Périgord Vert, Hôtel de France et de Russie is an independent hotel full of character, ideally located just a short walk from the town centre, its shops, restaurants and renowned Saturday morning market.

As a small hotel, we believe in keeping hospitality personal. Our approach is centred around a warm welcome, a peaceful atmosphere and genuine attention to the comfort and individual needs of our guests.

Set within a historic property, the hotel has all the charm and personality of a house that has evolved over time. We are gradually enhancing its spaces and comfort while taking care to preserve its individual character. No two rooms are quite the same, and some overlook the garden, offering a particularly quiet and relaxing setting.

Breakfast is available by reservation and served individually at your table, with an emphasis whenever possible on carefully selected, high-quality, local and seasonal produce.

Staying with us is also an opportunity to experience the Périgord Vert from a more local perspective. Thiviers is surrounded by characterful villages, châteaux, markets, local producers, walking trails and unspoilt countryside. The town's traditional Saturday morning market is one of the area's much-loved weekly events and a wonderful introduction to the produce and flavours of the Périgord.

For dinner, L’Escapade des Sens, an independently operated restaurant located within the property, offers contemporary gastronomic cuisine. Several other restaurants, cafés and local shops are also within easy walking distance.
