The hotel is open all year round. Some experiences are seasonal and available by prior arrangement, subject to conditions and our partners’ availability.

The harvest: during flowering season, and when conditions allow, take part in picking the delicate flowers.

A Welcome Stop for Pilgrims

A night on the Way of Saint James is not quite like any other hotel stay, which is why pilgrims are particularly welcome at Hôtel de France et de Russie.

After a long day on foot, enjoy the peace and privacy of a proper room in the heart of Thiviers.

Rest: a comfortable room in which to recover before returning to the trail.
Breakfast: available by reservation, with an earlier service when our organisation allows.
Dinner: we will gladly recommend nearby places to eat.
Massage: after several days of walking, a massage can be arranged in advance with our trusted practitioner to help tired legs recover.
Your stop in Thiviers: we will do our best to make your stay and departure the following morning as easy as possible.

Pilgrims are welcome throughout the year.

Cyclists & Hikers

The Périgord Vert is a wonderful region to discover slowly, whether on foot or by bicycle.

Thiviers is a stop on La Flow Vélo, while numerous walking routes lead through the landscapes of the northern Dordogne.

A comfortable stop: return to the peace of the hotel after a day on the road or trails.
Breakfast: available by reservation before setting off again.
Massage: a recovery massage can be arranged in advance.
Walking: we will gladly share ideas for discovering the surrounding countryside on foot.
Touring or exploring: stop in Thiviers for a night, or stay for a few days and use the town as your base for exploring the Périgord Vert.

Cyclists and hikers are welcome throughout the year.

Weddings & Your Family Home Away from Home

When there is a wedding, Hôtel de France et de Russie can become much more than simply a place to sleep: for a few days, it becomes your family home away from home.

We regularly welcome families, witnesses and friends gathering in the region for a wedding. When several rooms are booked by the same party, mornings are spent together, preparations begin throughout the house and the excitement of the day gradually fills the hotel.

And because it is often the smallest details that matter most on the big day, we do our best to take care of them.

Preparing your outfits: a steam ironing station can be made available on request.
Getting ready: a Dyson Supersonic™ hair dryer is available on request.
Breakfast: whenever possible, we adapt the organisation to the family's schedule.
Last-minute details: when an unexpected need arises, we will do our best to help find a solution.
Staying together: depending on the number of rooms booked and availability, your family and friends can occupy a large part of the hotel.

We are not wedding planners. Our role is to look after the people surrounding the couple, giving them a place to gather, prepare and enjoy these very special days together.
